And the sun came out...

It feels like Spring and we are soaking up the sunshine. Lots of fun activities coming up too - a trip in March to see Josie, Asheville Widespread Panic in April, and the trip to Boca Raton in June. The countdown begins....stay tuned!

10 years!

On January 12, 2001 I met a man that would change my life! To quote a favorite lyric from Phish, "You decide what it contains, how long it goes but this remains, the only rule is it begins. Happy, happy all my friends!" How happy I am on this day!

NYE in NYC!!

We arrived on 12/30 to a very snowy NYC! We had lunch at Dos Caminos in Soho and then shopped around a bit.
After wandering through the snow in Soho we went to Midtown. The snow there was mostly gone. A little shopping at Louis Vuitton and then on to Rockefeller Center to see the tree. It was a dream come true for me!

Dinner 12/30 at Do Hwa in West Village - crazy good Korean food. We had zucchini pancakes, kimchi dumplings, black cod, and pork belly wraps.

After dinner in front of our hotel, Washington Square Hotel in West Village. The best hotel, we loved it! Will stay here our next time in the city - a great boutique hotel.

Wandering around The Village on New Year's Eve - finally cleaning up the snow!
Walking to Otto for lunch on 12/31 - sloshing through the snow...
Washington Square Park on 5th and Waverly Place- beautiful covered in snow!
Lunch on 12/31 at Otto Entecca on 5th Avenue - Mario Batali's pizza place. Sooo good! I had prosciutto pizza and Dave had anchovy pizza. We stayed for almost 2 hours there, it was such a cool environment and amazing food!
Black and white dessert at Otto. Wonderful, amazing!!
Sunset in The Village on 12/31 - last sunset of 2010! What a way to end the year!
Phish tickets in hand for 12/31/2010! So cute how excited he was!
Me too, I was so excited!! Ready to ring in 2011 in Madison Square Garden!! The concert was ridiculous and just to be in MSG on New Year's was cool!! Phish put on an awesome show!!
We loved staying in The Village - just on Washington Square. Tons of shopping and restaurants to choose from.
Our last meal in the city - on Bleecker and Macdougal - outstanding Indian buffet! Taj Indian did not disappoint... the only meal we didn't plan and just stumbled upon. It was perfect!
The best part -- My mom worked in The Village in the 60s at 98 Macdougal. "The Hip Bagel" is now a burrito joint! We were staying 2 blocks from there, how neat!! And goodbye NYC, thanks for showing us a good time. We'll be back...

A Coykendall Christmas!

We had a merry and a white Christmas in Greenville! It was the first Christmas snow in 40 years in Greenville. Dave's parents came up for a few nights and we had a wonderful time!

I went with Joan and Joel to Christmas Eve Mass at St. Mary's downtown.
Just like our Thanksgiving picture! Dave had to work on Christmas Eve. Joan made a great ham soup and we had pumpkin cheesecake a la Paula Deen...
Dave did get to spend lots of family time with us though! Home call was quiet on Christmas Eve.
Beatrice loves her Gramps and was so happy to have him for Christmas!

On Christmas morning, Beatrice got a new toy from Grandma and Gramps, it even has her name on its scarf!

We were so lucky to have a wonderful holiday with our family! Now on to New Year's!!

Happy holiday party!

Dave got to come to my holiday party at work this year- his first one! He sweetly rearranged his schedule to come and we had such a wonderful night! What a lucky girl I am to have such a great guy - and one who is so cute in his bowtie!!

A time for thanks...

We had so much to be thankful for this year! Dave had home call but was able to spend a lot of time with the family. My parents came down from Virginia for a few nights and it was wonderful...maybe one of the best holidays with them ever!

I made turkey, stuffing, squash casserole, green bean casserole and two pies. The pumpkin cheesecake was amazing and the pecan pie was...interesting.

Beatrice loved having company! On Friday Mom and I did a marathon four hour shopping session that was super fun! It was an amazing few days with some of my favorite people. I just love my parents!

Dave had a cold so we couldn't go to Boone as planned but we had a nice weekend at home just relaxing.

We got our tree up and now we are ready for the holidays!!

And another year older!

The big 2-9 is here! It was a great day with many sweet phone calls, a party from my middle schoolers, and Indian dinner with Dave. Couldn't be happier in life right now, I am a lucky girl!
