Ahhh, Arizona!

Dave and I just returned from a lovely four day trip to Tucson. The Southwestern Surgical Congress had their annual meeting there and we soaked up every minute of the warm Arizona sun. We had never been to Tucson and fell in love!

The Catalina Foothills on the way to the Loews Ventana Canyon. What a view!

Dave enjoyed the conference very much and I enjoyed the pool very much! We also got to spend a lot of time together, which was great!!

We found La Encantada - full of great shops and restaurants...turned out to be our frequent hang out in Tucson!

Need the perfect mojito? Just go to BluePoint Kitchen in Tucson. Heavenly!

Ahhh, see why I love this place?

The most beautiful spot at the Loews. And the koi fish in the pond were huge!

The Catalina Foothills of Tucson, love the cacti.

Ok, my idea of camping. At our hotel you can get s'mores to roast at the fire pits. My first time roasting and loved every second of it!

Before the roasting began...

Dave doing some damage, we loved them!

Driving in Tucson one cannot miss the mountains. They took my breath away!

We loved our Western beers - Santa Fe, Alaskan and Sweetgrass from Wyoming!

Dave after winning the Southwestern Surgical Congress Golf Tournament! Longest drive and won the tournament. Sweet score and $100 gift card to the pro shop.

At our favorite spot in Tucson, La Encantada...we are in love with you, Tucson! Please invite us back again!

A party for Miss Emerson Clark

Emerson Clark was supposed to make her debut on April 15 but decided to come into the world six weeks early. Thank goodness she is doing great and we were still able to have a party in her honor! Tom and Cindy Clark were in from Dallas and we had many other wonderful guests to celebrate Miss Clark's birth!

Although Emerson couldn't join us in person, she shared some of her snapshots with us!

Persian food and a pullapart cupcake turned out to be hits!

Tom couldn't resist a good cupcake in honor of his first grandchild!

Gifts for the little lady!

What can I say, we love the Clarks!

A Coykendall Visit!

Joan and Joel came up for a nice weekend visit! Beatrice was most excited to see Gramps. She loves Gramps! While I had to take a recertification class on Saturday, Dave went with his parents to play golf at Furman.

It was a great day, temperatures in the 60s!

The whole family went out to Paris Mountain State Park on Sunday morning for a hike. Beatrice was so excited!

I cannot believe we have lived here almost 4 years and not visited the park. It was beautiful.

A little snow in SC!

We had a crazy snow storm yesterday that dumped 4 inches of snow in about 4 hours. The most snow we've seen since living in SC...

Beatrice loved playing in it while it was falling!

By time the time the sun went down, it was starting to fill up the deck and yard!

We went out to dinner downtown for an early Valentine's Day. It was so pretty with the white lights. We had a table right next to the window so we watched the snow fall as we enjoyed our lobster, yum!

And the main reason, I love living in the South. Well, it's all but gone at 3pm today! Thank you sunshine.

The bathroom re-do!

We finally got our upstairs bathroom redone, yay! Our bedroom was originally an attic and so was our bathroom. The shower was done very cheaply and needed much work. Luckily we found the best handymen to do all the plumbing and tile work. We couldn't be more excited. This was how the shower started out. I am actually embarrassed to post these but you can't get the real view of how great it is now without some before shots.

So you see we needed some work! Even the floor and the toilet needed help! All of this had been cleaned with bleach before the pictures were taken. So the work begins....

And...the final product! We are so pleased!

Even a new toilet and bleached grout! I guess we are really grown-ups now that we are excited about things like this!
